On Friday 13th November 12 staff from Corrimal High School, Lake Illawarra High School and Warrawong High School spent a day engaging with the various technology platforms available through the Illawarra Academy of STEM Excellence lending Library.
Staff from the Technology 4 Learning (T4L) team which are part of the NSW Department of Education's Information Technology Directorate (ITD) including Ryan Noonan and Jarrod Bourke as well as STEM Project Officer (Andrew Laidler) gave a presentation on the changing nature of technology, work and education prior to leading 5 workshops where teachers were able to Tinker with educational technologies.
Some of the technology platform workshops included:-
Microbit, TinkerCAD, COSPaces, Merge 3D, Turing Tumbler, Marty Robot and 3D Splat tools.
Teachers from each of the three
high schools as a result of these workshops have increased their knowledge and
skills as well as there capacity to deliver STEM content to students.
